A few years ago, if you asked me what defined a "luxury rug," I would have talked about delicate silk, intricate patterns, and a price tag that made you afraid to step on it.
Then, two things happened that changed my life: I had my son (who believes juice is for spilling, not drinking), and we adopted a Golden Retriever (who believes every rug is a giant napkin).
Suddenly, I became afraid of my own living room.
Every time my toddler pressed his face against the floor to play, I worried about dust mites and harsh chemicals. Every time the dog got the "zoomies," I worried about snagged threads. And every time I just wanted to sit on the floor with a glass of wine to unwind, I couldn’t relax. I was too busy calculating the risk of a stain.
I realized that when you have to be "careful" all the time, your home stops feeling like a sanctuary.
That is why Clemile was born.
The name Clemile holds my wish for every home: Clean, Smile, and going the extra Mile for comfort.
I wanted to build a rug that didn't force you to compromise:
It had to be soft enough for a baby’s tummy time and for your bare feet on a Sunday morning.
It had to be forgiving—tough enough to handle muddy paws, dropped spaghetti, and the beautiful chaos of real life.
And it had to be stylish, because before you are a parent or a pet owner, you are you, and you deserve a home that looks beautiful, not just "child-proof."
